Deadly new ammo tested on live Iraqis

Deadly new ammo tested on live Iraqis

Armor piercing limited penetration – it'll go through metal, but explodes inside of softer bodies. Wow, I'll be the matsci guy who thought up the APLP ammo really sleeps well at night.

Think Again: For 9/11 Investigation, Where Is Fox?

What liberal media? Amazing that the Weekly Standard has never, ever, published the phrase "9/11 Commission." Can you believe that?!

Yanks to Sign Sheffield

Yanks to Sign Sheffield

The Yank's offense just got a whole lot better, but at great expense. They're more likely to trade Johnson or Soriano now, and the already-old team just got older. Schilling v. Sheff in game 7 of the ALDS, anyone?

Still, Sheffield's a hell of a player. Maybe he won't be so underrated anymore.

MPAA, RIAA seek permanent antitrust exemption

MPAA, RIAA seek permanent antitrust exemption

Riiiight. Baseball, the MPAA, and the RIAA. JFC, people!

Also, notice one of our favorite ijits – Orrin Hatch – is behind this deal. He's also a free market GoPper, except for this time, apparently. Hatch said the big studios and major record labels need the exemption because of “market realities”

MS takes $1.1bn 'hostage' to freeze Lindows out of California case

MS takes $1.1bn 'hostage' to freeze Lindows out of California case

"Microsoft is holding up compensation claims from a quarter of million Californians in order to punish Lindows.com, and to coerce the class action plaintiffs "into siding with Microsoft against its Lindows competitor," according to a court filing seen by The Register. The document, filed on 21st November by Townsend and Townsend and Crew, lead counsel for the Californian class action consumers, points out that none of the claims being held up was actually filed via Lindows.com, yet Microsoft has held them "hostage" for over two months."

A bit of inflammatory language, but the end result is the same: MS is minimizing its disbursements by fighting Lindows ability to aggregate claims on users' behalf.

LA Times, telling it like it is. You'll never see something like this in the WaPo, NYT, or any other major paper. No wonder the LAT is "liberal"… they actually tell it like it is.

America's enemy within

America's enemy within

“With the activists recast as dangerous aliens, Miami became eligible for the open tap of public money irrigating the “war on terror”. In fact, $8.5m spent on security during the FTAA meeting came out of the $87bn Bush extracted from Congress for Iraq last month.”

How has it all come to this?

Congress Expands FBI Spying Power

Hidden inside an otherwise innocuous intelligence spending bill, now the FBI can subpoena information about you from practically any business or organization – without approval or permission from a judge, and with a gag order on the targeted organization.

Woohoo. Proud to be an American.
