"A Silicon Valley computer programmer has been arrested for threatening to torture and kill employees of the company he blames for bombarding his computer with Web ads promising to enlarge his penis…
Booker threatened to send a "package full of Anthrax spores" to the company, to "disable" an employee with a bullet and torture him with a power drill and ice pick; and to hunt down and castrate the employees unless they removed him from their e-mail list, prosecutors said."
Unfortunately, Booker now faces up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. I think the way to shut down the spammers is to spam them back. Find the senders and if you can pounce within a couple mins with a DDoS then those cretins will be stopped. That's one way, anyway.
Gen. Franks Doubts Constitution Will Survive WMD Attack
"Gen. Tommy Franks says that if the United States is hit with a weapon of mass destruction that inflicts large casualties, the Constitution will likely be discarded in favor of a military form of government."
… only in your wet dreams, Franks.
MP3.com is going to destroy all content
Why CNet bought it, I don't know, but all music content is going to be deleted shortly. Well, that sucks.

"The 101st Airborne Division's Tiger Force was among the most elite units in the Vietnam War, tasked with cleaning out the enemy in a string of villages in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. But according to an Army investigation, which the government kept secret for almost three decades, the mission turned into a seven-month-long mass murder."
…
Also of note: "The Army sent regular reports on the investigation to the Nixon White House between 1971 and 1973, Sallah and Weiss reported. The final decision to keep the case quiet and not prosecute was made in November 1975, when Nixon's successor, Gerald Ford, was urging the country to heal from the wounds of Vietnam. It was also the month James Schlesinger resigned as secretary of defense and was replaced by Donald Rumsfeld, who was the youngest secretary of defense in U.S. history."
Funny part? The New York Times has not covered this at all.
Livingstone says Bush is 'greatest threat to life on planet'
Imagine if Bloomberg said the same of Tony Blair and you can imagine the force of the statement.
It's amazing to me, that outside of a Friedman op-ed in today's NYT, no major American media outlet is reporting this.
What liberal media?
Speed Kills, Military Wants More
We're up to hypersonic missiles now. No word on when we all get transporters.
If you want to be horrified – check out the mug shot. Holy fuckin shit!
If you want to be horrified and disgusted, read about his predatory behavior in the earlier 1993 case.
This is nothing new to those already familiar with the Open Audio License or the Creative Commons license. You know, like me. Anyway, good to see a record company, indie or no, that "gets it."

Protesters, Police Clash in Miami
In addition to having their constitutional rights put on hold for the duration of the conference, the protesters had the honor of being shot by the rubber bullets of the runnnig pig dog fascist cops doing “crowd control.”

Korea to build 100M bps Internet system
nationwide! fuckin sweet! It doesn't beat the Japanese Gigabit ethernet test, but the gigabit was only for a small locale (but still, $13/month). America is so behind on this stuff, it's not even funny.
