Everything you see on this site to which I own the rights, namely all my words and graphical works, are released under the Open Publication License v1.0.
I retain the copyright in these works. However, as part of my bundle of rights, I license you to reproduce and distribute in whole or in part, in any medium physical or electronic, provided that the terms of this license are adhered to, and that this license or an incorporation of it by reference (with any options elected by me) is displayed in the reproduction.
Generally, opinion in its purest form, which is to say, mine. Anything said herein does not imply that my employer, if any, holds these same opinions. Anything said herein does not imply that anyone in this world agrees with me, that they should agree with me, or that I am proselytizing for them to agree with me. Substitute "you" for "them" in this sentence if it makes this feel more relevant to you.
Charles Barkley once said "I am not a role model." Well, Charles Barkley, was, and remains, a moron. Of course he was a role model. He was a public figure idolized by thousands upon thousands of youths. Simply because he's too cowardly to shoulder the responsibility does not negate the fact that he was, and maybe remains, a role model.
I, on the other hand, truly am not a role model. We can all be thankful for that.
I don't take any personal information here. I don't want any. I don't even write cookies because I believe a good site design obviates their need. Well, that and I'm not doing shopping cart stuff here. The only part of the site that takes any personal information is the forum and there's a healthy COPPPpppppA disclaimer there covering those particulars.
I don't know who you are. I don't want to know who you are. Unless you love my music, in which case, I do want to know who you are because right-thinking people worldwide should stick together. Regardless, if I ever take any personal information somehow, I will not use it. I will not sell it. I will not divulge it. And the FBI with their sneak-n-peeks can try all they want, but even they would be hard-pressed to get anything outta these servers. I simply don't keep the data (it helps when you don't ask for it). Does that cover it sufficiently? Good.
Any products, corporate entities, or space aliens and their associated tradename, service mark, or other identifying pieces of marketing property that are used, referred to, mentioned, hinted at, or abused herein belong to and are the property of their respective legal trademark/copyright holders.
Sure, the copyright system is intellectually bankrupt and hopelessly outdated, but it's the world we live in. I don't want to steal from anyone, but I also believe that the public good is best served by a varied and vibrant commons. I encourage each and every one of you to write something, sometime, and submit it to the public and release it under the Open Publication License. We can build a egalitarian borderless future y'all.
This site is designed to be browser independent. I have to restrain myself from putting a nag reminder on every page when someone is browsing from IE. I will not use proprietary tags. I will not use smart tags. I will not use <blink>. I am primarily a mozilla user (actually, I use FireBird), with backups of opera, galeon, and konqueror. I use IE only when I'm in 'doze and some shithead of a webdesigner made something that only works with IE. Like the flipdog.com image map. I hate that.
The real complaint, if there is to be one, is that the site looks either too big or too small on some browser/OS combination. Frankly, there is very little I can do about that. I develop primarily on linux, and the way the X system displays fonts (tiny tiny tiny) makes me make things a bit too big for, say, windoze + IE browser users. Mozilla looks good on all platforms, though.
Aesthetically, I'm into clean, almost austere visuals (this is not to be confused with ugly, which is what most engineers make. nor is this to be confused with my abodes because I'm anything but clean there). So it may be plain, but I'm just following my muse.
Except for those blog date titles/text combos. Those are generated entirely at random by my scripts and they? Are exceedingly ugly, usually. Oh well. At least they're more interesting that way (for those that care, the text and background colors are exactly opposite each other on the RGB color spectrum).
OK, if you are going to mail me you should either encrypt the message with my public key or at least sign it. Carnivore is violating you or your fellow citizens 4th Amendment rights daily. One way to stop this is to increase the level of encrypted traffic across the net. I don't care if you are asking me how my petunias are growing this season, encrypt the question (and use GPG (yes, I repeated the link on purpose), it's patent-free. PGP's good, too. )
Encryption. It's not just for breakfast anymore.
Life's too short to sweat the small shit. Like disclaimer pages. Every second you waste reading this could be a second you spend living life to the fullest. Go on, enjoy yourself. My claptrap ain't worth it for sure.
Have a nice day.
